I was established in 1966 in Latvia, a part of the USSR then.
Moved to St. Petersburg, in 1983.

Left it for Germany in 1990.

I developed my first film in 1978 and got hooked on the process immediately.

My education has been largely autodidactic, with traditional painting, graphic arts, and music being huge sources of inspiration. Psychological portraiture remains a focus of my continuous interest. Artists, actors, musicians, and other remarkable characters are my favourite subjects.

Every trip is an awakening; travel photography has its share in my portfolio.

I am always interested in daring, meaningful collaborations.
