I was established in 1966 in Latvia, a part of the USSR then.
Moved to St. Petersburg, in 1983.

Left it for Germany in 1990.

I developed my first film in 1978 and got hooked on the process immediately.

My education has been largely autodidactic, with traditional painting, graphic arts and music being a huge source of inspiration. Psychological portraiture remains a focus of my continuous interest. Artists, actors, musicians and other remarkable characters are my favourite subjects. 

Every trip is an awakening; travel photography has its share in my portfolio.

I am always interested in daring, meaningful collaborations.
